Here is Holly and Max exercising their right to practise their own culture. They have been celebrating Saint Lucia’s Day, which is a Swedish celebration of the shortest day of the year and celebrated on the 13th December. Holly is wearing candles and they have been giving out special biscuits. Thank you both!

The Right’s Respecting displays around school receive our stamp of approval!

Some of the steering group children have been around school this afternoon looking for displays that are linked to one of the articles of the CRC. We found lots and gave them our stamp of approval- a picture of Rights Respecting Robby Robot! We will be keeping a look out for any more displays that are linked to children’s rights and have an article attached to them.

Trip to Rome!

From the 19th-22nd November some of the staff and children from our school visited a school in Rome as part of the Comenius project. The Comenius project is a project linking schools from different countries to develop an understanding of different cultures by exploring children’s rights. We took 3 children from our RRSA Steering group and visited the Istituto Comprensivo Viale Adriatico, where we met teachers and children from Poland, Greece and Turkey too. We had an absolutely fantastic experience and we are excited to tell the rest of school about it in the Wednesday and Thursday assemblies this week.

Here are some photos of some of our experiences whilst in Italy. Come along to the assemblies to find out more!
